Life Lesson 4

Ever feel like you had to be someone different? Like you couldn't be your true self because people wouldn't understand? Life has a funny way of trying to conform us to be someone we are not. Teaching us at a young age that our feelings are not valid and that showing them is a sign of weakness. That sort of thinking does nothing but damage a soul by making them think what they feel is not accepted. We are human, we have emotions, whether they are sadness, anger, happiness etc. It doesn't matter what emotion you are feeling there is a reason and it is human nature to express it. There is no harm in expressing such feelings, however, it should be done in a respectful manner to others. Meaning just because you are angry that doesn't give you the pass to punch the person you are angry at. (Even though sometimes you may want to) You can express your anger in a respectful way where it gets it off your chest and the person you are angry at will be aware that something they may have done or didn't do has upset you. Learning to express the emotions in a proper way is very key to your mental and emotional health.

The best thing you can do not only for yourself but for the ones around you that you care about is to speak your truth. Express how you feel, if you love someone tell them, if you miss someone tell them. Even if you are mad or upset with someone tell them. Life is short and we never know how long we have on this earth. Make the most of it, live, learn and have fun. Let your emotions be free, don't bottle them, don't lock them up, let them out, let them be what they are. We are not robots, we feel, we hurt, we love, we live. Live life to the fullest and do what makes you happy.
